Closer to Chiribiquete and the Araracuara

From USD 1300 per person | 4 NIGHTS / 5 DAYS

Places to visit:

This wonderful experience takes us to know the limits of the great Serranía del Chiribiquete National Natural Park. It is exciting to imagine what it feels like to enjoy that virgin forest where not only is the oldest and most impressive pictographic complex in America (more than 20,000 years old and more than 70,000 pictograms), but also the rock plateaus or Oldest "tepuis" on the continent and the humid forests with the largest number of endemic species.

Araracuara is the gateway to the Chiribiquete and as such surprises our travelers with the views over the great Caquetá and s Yarí rivers, the impressive canyon of the Angosturas River, and the exuberant vegetation and fauna found in all the surroundings. On the other hand, with this program we have the unique opportunity to interact with the Andoque indigenous people and their ancient traditions.

DAY 1 - BOGOTÁ - ARARACUARA

Around 9am we will take our charter flight from the Guaymaral Airport of Bogotá to San Vicente del Caguán. After arrival we will enjoy a typical lunch of the region as a welcome to our adventure. Later, the charter flight will go to La Macarena and from there to Araracuara. Upon arrival the guides will lead us to the Posada del Sol Naciente. At the end of the day we will have a special dinner where we will share with the Andoke and Huitoto indigenous communities, who will transmit a little of their indigenous roots while tasting a typical silver of the Amazonian indigenous gastronomy.

DAY 2 - ARARACUARA / PUERTO SANTANDER / CIUDAD PERDIDA

After breakfast we will take a canoe to Puerto Santander. From there we will start a walk along a path that will take us to the Lost City: a sacred place where we will know through the cultural interpretation of Taita Andoke the cosmogony and ancestry through history and the petroglyphs painted on the rocks.

In the afternoon we will have lunch and go to the Araracuara Canyon where the roaring river is strangled by the rocks and the fishermen take the opportunity to catch large Amazonian catfish. At the end of the day, we will return to our Andoke house.

DAY 3 - ARARACUARA / RIO YARÉ

After having breakfast at 6 AM, we will move along the Caquetá River until we reach the natural and sacred settings of the local indigenous culture: La Gamitana, La Campana and the Mirador Cristales. Throughout the tour, we will be able to enjoy the beautiful panoramic views of the Yaré River and all the biodiversity that surrounds it. We can see pink dolphins, tapirs, otters, turtles or macaws. Upon returning to the hotel we will have dinner with the Andoke Poosioho community of the Aduche indigenous reservation. There they will teach us some of their traditions.
